Event: Huffmaster Mini Grasshopper
You know what a #bikesploration geek loves? Getting the chance to check out new roads. You know what they love even more? When that route has been artisanally-crafted in small batches by a local legend such as Miguel Crawford at @grasshopperadventureseries and you get to ride it with a pack of other bike weirdos. Oh, and the pizza and beer at the end don’t hurt.
This year’s edition of the Huffmaster course has been lovingly dubbed the Mudmaster. While only days before the dirt was hard-packed and fast, after a few overnight freezes and thaws, 2023 turned the main climb of Huffmaster into a thick peanut-buttery mess.
Sitting around the table eating food and sharing stories after the event, most people looked a little shell-shocked. Most people lost some paint from their frames. But in true Grasshopper spirit, most people laughed and said they’d be back next year.
